Inspired by slow, small batch production highlighting timeless design and craftsmanship, Ward’s work is driven by bringing the production of utilitarian, artisan selvedge denim to the UK. Ward was motivated to take denim back to its origins by weaving a collection of hard wearing fabric. In order to ensure provenance through materials, Ward used a blend of pre-consumer waste cotton and British wool sourced within the UK. The collection has been created through Ward hand weaving and using an industrial shuttle loom sourced in Huddersfield resulting in raw selvedge denim fabrics produced entirely in Yorkshire.
